Whether you're just getting started or you're scaling fast, we provide small businesses and nonprofits with dependable financial support that goes beyond the basics. From day-to-day organization to strategic insight, our goal is to help you feel confident and in control of your numbers.
We go beyond basic bookkeeping. Our goal is to give you clear, accurate financials and the confidence to make smart business decisions.
We’re more than “just bookkeepers.” We bring expertise from corporate accounting, SEC internal controls, and forensic bookkeeping to provide services that truly support your business:
📝 Please note: We are not a CPA firm and do not offer audits or attestation services. Our services are designed to support your financial clarity through advanced bookkeeping and internal review techniques.
You might notice we call everything “bookkeeping,” even though what we do includes much more—reconciling accounts, preparing financials, supporting tax prep, and helping guide business owners on next steps.
That’s because in the state of Texas, only licensed CPAs are allowed to use the word “accounting” in connection with their services—even if you hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accounting (like I do!). So to comply, we use the term bookkeeping, even though we deliver a much deeper level of service.
Just know you’re getting high-quality, educated financial help—Texas just makes us word it a certain way. 😉
As part of our mission to support every area of your financial life, we now offer life insurance options that help protect your family and your legacy. Ask us for a quote or more info!

While we are not a CPA firm, our founder Emely brings a strong foundation of education, experience, and ongoing professional development. She earned her Bachelor’s in Accounting in 2010 and her Master’s in Accountancy in 2013 from the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business.
Emely is currently pursuing her Enrolled Agent (EA) designation — a federally issued credential by the IRS that focuses exclusively on tax law, ethics, and representation. She has already passed 1 of the 3 required exams and will keep clients updated as she progresses.
Although the CPA license is highly respected, it’s also a broad credential that covers many areas not relevant to the services we provide. CPA candidates study subjects such as auditing, financial reporting for public companies, business law, and governmental accounting — topics essential for auditors and professionals working with large corporations or public entities.
While Emely is a CPA candidate and may complete that path in the future, her current focus is on gaining credentials that are laser-focused on what our clients actually need — expert support with bookkeeping, tax filings, and financial clarity for individuals and small businesses.
Not yet. Our founder, Emely, is currently working toward becoming an Enrolled Agent (EA) — a federally licensed designation issued by the IRS that allows tax professionals to represent clients in audits, appeals, and other matters directly with the IRS. She has passed 1 of the 3 required exams and will keep clients informed as she completes the process.
In the meantime, we are still able to call the IRS on your behalf and request transcripts or gather information with your written authorization (Form 8821 or Form 2848). Full representation rights will be available once the EA designation is complete.
EA stands for Enrolled Agent — a federally licensed tax practitioner authorized by the IRS to represent taxpayers in all matters, including audits, collections, and appeals.
To become an EA, a tax professional must pass a rigorous three-part exam that covers:
The EA license is the highest credential issued directly by the IRS, and it focuses 100% on tax law, compliance, and representation — making it extremely relevant for small businesses, self-employed individuals, and anyone needing expert tax support.
Unlike CPAs or attorneys, EAs are nationally recognized and can practice in any state without needing additional licensing. Once licensed, EAs must complete annual continuing education to stay current on tax law and IRS regulations.
At Business Services Unlimited, our founder Emely is currently pursuing her EA designation and will keep clients updated as she completes the process.
We offer bookkeeping, tax preparation, financial reporting, sales tax filing, 1099 filing, business consulting, and more. We also handle special projects like inventory tracking, process implementation, and internal controls.
Note: While our work goes beyond traditional bookkeeping, Texas law limits the term "accounting" to CPAs. So, even with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accounting, we stick with the term "bookkeeping" to stay compliant.
Pricing depends on the type of work and level of involvement. You can find our standard pricing at www.bsuhtx.com/pricing, or reach out for a custom quote based on your business’s needs.
Yes. We require deposits before we begin:
We’ve learned the hard way that waiting 30–60 days for payment during tax season is unsustainable. Filing also comes with fees on our end. To stay efficient and serve all clients well, we ask that all invoices be paid in full before filing or delivery.
Yes! Most of our clients are fully remote. We use secure online platforms to share files, hold virtual meetings, and communicate efficiently no matter where you're located.
Nope — we serve clients across the U.S. Whether you're in Texas or out of state, we can support your bookkeeping and tax needs virtually.
